Chardonnay
Gundlach Bundschu, Sonoma Valley, California (2008)
Fresh aromas of citrus, with a touch of butterscotch and crisp minerality showcase this excellent 2007 Chardonnay.
Kenneth Volk, Santa Maria Valley, California (2007)
Full-bodied Chardonnay with aromas of toasted grains, sliced apple and wet slate. On the palate, the wine is creamy and full volume with a flinty minerality. The low pH and high natural acidity help this wine finish crisply.
Rombauer Vineyards, Napa Valley (2008)
Pear, pineapple, and tropical fruits. Great balance with creamy, toasted vanilla, floral, but not sweet, and tons of Oak. Hints of Apple linger on the finish.
Cousino-Macul, Chile (2007)
Fruity, clean flavor with orange peel, mandarin and apple aromas
with notes of jasmine, honeysuckle and tropical mango. Medium-
bodied and unoaked.
Chardonel
Bethlehem Valley, Missouri (2006)
Local wine made from the Chardonel grape, a cross of the Seyval
and Chardonnay grapes. Aged in French oak barrels, which give
the wine soft wood notes and buttery fresh fruit notes.
Riesling
Selbach Piesporter, Michelsberg, Germany (2008)
Sweet, honeyed wine with fruit flavors. Enough acidity to control
the sweetness. Light- to medium-bodied.
Drathen Liebfraumilch, Nahe, Germany (2008)
Medium-sweet/sweet wine. Light, fresh, round and well-balanced.
Sauvignon Blanc
Angeline, Russian River Valley, California (2007)
Tropical fruits and flowers make up the bouquet leading to refreshing and crisp green melon notes. The wine finishes light and
soft with hints of citrus.
Dashwood, New Zealand (2009)
Vivid, refreshing and brimming with lime-accented pear, star fruit and light vanilla flavors, lingering nicely on the expressive finish. Meyer lemon, tangerine, lime zest, papaya, and pineapple. A veritable cocktail of fruit flavors, but never tastes like fruit cocktail. This wine has a lovely delineation of flavors ranging from the citrus to the tropical, but it never becomes cloying or overbearing.
Pino Blanc
Steel, Lake County, California (2007)
Fruit aromas and flavors, with peach and melon characteristics. A hallmark green apple character common in Pinot Blanc. The nose is aromatic with soft and creamy mid-palate. The most common descriptor we hear applied to this wine is simply “yummy.”
Pinot Grigio
Ca’ del Sarto, Friuli-Venezia, Italy (2006)
A group of farmers in Friuli create this small-batch wine from the
best single vineyards. A nice balance of crisp fruits and acidity,
the nose has hints of lemon, lime and kiwi leading to fresh melon,
honey, and fig on the palate.
Pinot Gris, A to Z, Oregon (2008)
Rich and ripe, with a yellow gold color and beautiful flashes of emerald. Powerful aromatics are redolent of ripe citrus fruits, acacia flowers, tropical fruits, honeysuckle, nectarines and pineapple. A concentrated wine with ripe acidity, the finish rolls off the mid-palate and lasts forever.
Entre-deux-Mers
Château Marjosse Blanc, Bordeaux, France (2006)
A combination of sauvignon blanc, semillion, and muscadelle
grapes that results in a round, rich, golden wine with honeyed and
floral notes. The nose evokes white and exotic fruit, citrus and
white flowers Warm texture and mild finish.
Viognier
Peirano Estate Vineyards, Lodi, California (2007)
A bouquet of lemon and ginger is combined with a palate of
peaches, pineapple, tropical fruit, apples, pears, and orange marmalade. Refreshing finish.
White Burgundy
Pouilly Fuisse-Solutre (2006)
Light yellow colored with lovely aromatic freshness, notes of lemon, lime, grapefruit and zesty minerality. Rich and complex, with notes of pear and quince and a lively and energetic underpinning of juicy acidity.
