Feyza & Ayse Eren, May 18th, Saturday, 8pm

Jazz vocalist Feyza Eren returned from Istanbul in 2011, where she spent 16 years singing jazz with Turkey’s finest musicians, including Ricky Ford. She is back in her home town and will perform a repertoire including jazz standards and bossa nova tunes with noted St. Louis pianist Curt Landes.

Singer/songwriter Ayse Eren will sing originals from Ayse’s CD, “How Long ‘Til” as well as covers from the Beatles, Coldplay, Pink, and Leonard Cohen, just to name a few. Accompanying Ayse on piano is Bob Buckman. Ayse is the former vocalist and rhythm guitarist for Farshid Etniko.

Feyza & Ayse will also perform a set of tunes together, combining their voices and incorporating beautiful sibling harmonies and vocal colors.

He’s an accomplished singer & songwriter who won “Best Solo Artist” at The 2010-2011’s Riverfront Time’s Music Awards, and has had songs featured on MTV’s Real World. He has also worked with some of the best musicians in the region and shared the stage with the likes of Willie Nelson, Blues Traveler, Everclear, Los Lobos, The Roots, Ben Folds, Idina Menzel, Duran Duran and many more.

Maple Jam Band plays an upbeat, eclectic mix of rock, blues and an occasional country tune. Always engaging, whatever the music genre. Their repertoire runs the gamut from Buddy Holly to Creedence, from Jimmy Reed to Taj Mahal, and from Johnny Cash to Marshall Tucker. They once opened for rock icon Leon Russell. Outstanding three-part harmony. Lots of positive energy from guys who know how to play and have lots of fun doing it. How many other groups feature harmonica, mandolin and bongo drums? Come listen.

Mitzi, a native of Nova Scotia, Canada, has been entertaining St. Louis audiences with her blend of original music and cover favorites for many years now. Her songs are about life, pure and simple, and reach into the hearts of the listener to remind us all, of what it’s really about.

Founder and lead singer of Keltic Reign, where Mitzi brings Celtic song to center stage, she performs along with her children who play many traditional instruments. Every year audiences are delighted, and a children’s home is helped, with her show “Christmas in the Kitchen” at the Sheldon Concert Hall.
